I hate it when He is right.
Last night I was reading through the Menards ad, sharing with my husband, Braum, that I’d like to go to Menards Saturday to pick up a few things. I wanted to use up a gift card I hadn’t used yet and buy the components for a household project. Braum said, “Menards, Really? You really want to get this virus don’t you?” I told him that Menards was one of the ‘Critical’ stores that will stay open and that I wanted us to use the ‘Stay-At-Home’ order to complete a home project. Plus, it was going to be crappy outside tomorrow.
I’d been hearing from multiple people about how that was what they were doing to pass the time and not get too bored: either cleaning things out, painting, cleaning carpets, varnishing, just working on a project.
My husband said, “No” and I started to think, “Well they are recommending if someone has to go shopping it should be only one person from the family…..so I’ll just go by myself…..I need to get out of the house and, I love Menards”.
This conversation was Friday night around 7pm, right after ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and I had this nagging feeling that Braum was right. So, I started reading.
I grabbed my computer, some hot tea, and googled to ‘Italy and Corona Virus’. I got a little information but wanted to consider the source I was getting the information from because I believe not everything online is from appropriate resources. I went to ‘CNN’ and Italy and Corona virus. From there I landed on two interviews from Bill Gates, a pretty smart guy. I listened to him share a prediction about when the coronavirus cases will peak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A71lfXrQlxU and him discussing what he thinks the world is learning about pandemics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNLiUN0l7ws.
After listening to Mr. Gates and Dr. Fauci about the virus setting the timeline https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2020/03/26/dr-anthony-fauci-virus-makes-the-timeline-cpt-vpx.cnn, I finally went to bed for the night humbled.
This pandemic is serious and, even though I was having a craving to go to one of my favorite stores to shop and meander, for now, I won’t go.
However, I can shop and meander online. So around 5:30am Saturday morning, with the Menards ad and a cup of coffee by myside, I went to Menards, online, plus a few other stores and ordered what I needed and wanted to satisfy my urge to shop.
And I’ll tell my husband that he was right but not until Sunday. Because I hate it when he is right.
